Are you looking for further information on Japanese Knotweed removal & other types of Knotweed Control
Japanese knotweed is a rhizomatous perennial plant which was originally introduced as an ornamental in Europe in the 18th century. Unfortunately it has since spread dramatically (the tiniest piece can re-grow into a new plant) and since it is difficult to eradicate it represents a real problem in the UK. Its vigorous roots cause substantial damage to surfaces and any hard structures. Its large size means it shades out native plants reducing diversity and threatening native wildlife.
As a consequence it is listed in the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, which makes itan offence to plant or otherwise cause the species to grow in the wild. Doing so can result in prosecution and a fine.
How Japanese knotweed control works:
The good news is that Complete Tree Care is highly experienced and successful in Japanese knotweed removal. Our manager will visit your site and provide a free estimate and methodology for its control. This will generally involve a minimum of two foliar sprays annually for two or three years. Where the plant is growing in a plant bed or near to a water course we can offer stem injection so that only the knotweed is eradicated.
Other non-native weeds:
We are also able to control other non native invasive species such as Giant Hogweed and Himalayan balsam. Please contact for more information.
